How long does a wash/ groom take?
Washing and grooming times vary depending on the size of the dog and the length of the coat. Allow one hour for a wash and blow dry.
Two to three hours for a full groom.
What do you need when you get to my house?
The mobile van requires direct street parking in front of your house and access to water, garden tap, (we have all the hose fittings) and power (we have extension cords) through the garage or front room window.
What shampoo do you use?
Petway Petcare Natural Products Pink Shampoo and Pink Conditioner pH balance between 6.0-6.5pH, biodegradable, soap-free and environmentally responsible. Organic Coal Tar Lotion is suitable for dogs with dry scaly skin, contains Coal Tar, Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Neem Oil and Vitamin E. Neem Oil is recognized as an insect deterrent and has antibacterial, antifungals and antiviral properties.
Fido's White and Bright Shampoo for light coloured coats is soap free and enriched with orange and grapefruit essential oils that adds brilliance and shine without bleaching.
Can my dog have a flea treatment as part of his wash/groom?
We have a special flea treatment shampoo.
Do you clean eyes, ears and clip dog nails?
Cleaning a dogs eyes and ears is part of every wash. Nails are clipped in consultation with the dog's owner.
Do you clip cats' nails?
We encourage owners to go to a professional Cat Groomer and Your Critter Sitter recommends Chic Kitty.
Will you pet sit my Guinea Pig?
Our pet sitting service covers all small indoor and outdoors pets, cats, dogs, Guinea Pigs, rabbits, caged birds, fish.

How old should my puppy be for his first groom?
We recommend a puppy be four months. In preparation to a puppies first groom make sure you don't frighten him by squirting him with the garden hose or scaring him with the vacuum cleaner.
Can I have my dog washed/groomed on the same day I phone for an appointment?
Regular clients understand the advantage of a standing appointment every six to eight weeks.
Please check for any cancellations and allow between three days and a week for an appointment.
How often should I book you to wash my dog?
We recommend every four to eight weeks, more frequent washing dries out the coats natural oils and can lead to skin problems.
What is Group Dog Walking?
Five mornings a week Your Critter Sitter picks up and returns home a group of four dogs, matched for age, size and temperament, at one of the local off-leash parks. Lead by our own 'Little brown Dog' Alexandra, (Alex for short) , a nine year old brindle Staffy.
