How long does a Wash and Groom usually take?

Washing and grooming times vary depending on the size of the dog, how familiar the dog is with being groomed, how comfortable the dog is with being handled, the length and condition of the dog’s coat. One or more hours can we added If the groomer has to spend extra time combing and brushing your dog with added cost. If you comb and brush your dog daily a wash will take an hour, a full groom will take two to four.

 What do I need to have provide when you get to my house?

The grooming van requires safe street parking in front of your house, flat, driveway or rear lane with access to a water tap and power pin. The van has tap fittings of all sizes and power extension cords. 

What type of products will you use on my dog?  

Each dog’s coat condition is assessed before choosing the correct ‘Your Critter Sitter’ perfume and colour free, shampoos and conditioners. Our groomer uses All Purpose for normal coats, Manuka Honey and Oatmeal for sensitive, or dry scarily skin, to control the spread of dermatitis by reducing redness and itchiness. Emu Oil Omega 3 especially formulated for dogs suffering from skin allergies reducing inflammation while revitalising a dry coat to silky smoothness. Flea shampoo.

I want my dog’s ears cleaned and nails clipped?

Cleaning eyes and ears is part of every wash and groom. Regular nail clipping is done in consultation with the dog owner.

How old should my puppy be for his first groom?

A puppy’s first groom is recommended at four months. Prepare your puppy by brushing and combing your puppy at least once a week, and play with its feet so the groomer can clip nails and trim off excess hair around the pads. 

Can I have my dog washed or groomed on the day I phone for an appointment?

Your Critter Sitter has regular clients who understand the advantage of a standing appointment every six to eight weeks. When phoning for an appointment allow three to five days, although on some occasions there can have been a cancellation.

How often do you walk dogs?

Dogs are walked Monday to Friday in small compatible groups, or solo, on or off leash, in all weathers. Dogs are matched by size, age and temperament and walked in dog friendly parks, fenced parks, off leash parks, along Cooks River and at Glebe Beach. We also arrange small puppy social groups with an emphasis on socialisation and practising basic commands. All dogs are picked up from their homes, or your office, and returned. 

Do you only Pet Sit cats?

Our Pet Sitting services care for cats, dogs, puppies, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, insects and reptiles. Our service is available 7 days a week, as often as required each day, provide meals, refresh water bowls, empty litter trays, bring in papers and mail, water indoor plants, pick up and return of keys. We provide a very specialise and flexible service on call with as little as an hours notice if we hold a set of keys.
